Editing a rule for the application selected

By default, the application inherits the rules of the status that has been assigned to it. You can change the rules for an application. After that, the application will be assigned the Custom settings status. You can restore the default status of the application, if necessary.

You can also disable the inheritance of status rules for a specified category of protected resources. The access to these resources is managed by the rules for the application.

To change an application rule:

  1. Open the main application window and select the Protection Center section.
  2. In the right part of the window, left-click to open the System and Applications Protection list of components.
  3. Click the Applications Activity link.
  4. In the Applications Activity window that opens, in the Category dropdown list, select the required application category.
  5. In the Status column, left-click to open the context menu for the required application and select Rules for application.
  6. In the Rules for application window that opens, select the tab that match the required resource category (Files and system registry, Rights, or Network rules).
  7. Right-click the corresponding action column to open the context menu for the required resource and select the required settings.

To disable inheritance of status rules:

  1. Open the main application window and select the Protection Center section.
  2. In the right part of the window, left-click to open the System and Applications Protection list of components.
  3. Click the Applications Activity link.
  4. In the Applications Activity window that opens, in the Category dropdown list, select the required application category.
  5. In the Status column, left-click to open the context menu for the required application and select Rules for application.
  6. In the Rules for application window that opens, select the tab that match the required resource category (Files and system registry or Rights).
  7. For the necessary resource, right-click the corresponding action column to open the context menu and select in it the Inherit item with the box checked.
