Notification area iconImmediately after installing the application, the application icon appears in the Microsoft Windows taskbar notification area. In the Microsoft Windows 7 operating system by default the application icon is hidden, but you can display it to access the application easier (see the operating system documentation). The icon has the following basic purposes:
Indication of the application activity This icon is an indicator of the application’s operation. It also reflects the protection status and shows a number of basic functions performed by the application at the moment:
By default the icon is animated: for example, during the email message scan a miniature letter symbol is pulsating against the application icon; when update is in progress there is a revolving symbol of a globe. Animation can be deactivated. When the animation is disabled the icon can take on the following appearances:
Access to the context menu and application windows You can use the icon to open the context menu and the main application window. To open the context menu, roll over the icon with the mouse pointer and right-click the area. To open the main application window, roll over the icon with the mouse pointer and left-click the area.
