Step 2. Making sure the system meets the installation requirements

Before Kaspersky Internet Security installation on your computer the installer checks the operating system and service packs to make sure they meet the software requirements for product installation. In addition, the installer checks the presence of required software and the credentials necessary to install applications.

If any condition is not observed, a corresponding notification will be displayed. In that case you are advised to install the required software and use the Windows Update service to download and apply the necessary service packs before installing the product of Kaspersky Lab.

At this step, the application searches for Kaspersky Lab applications that may lead to conflicts when used together with Kaspersky Internet Security. If such applications are found, you are offered to remove them manually.

If an earlier version of Kaspersky Anti-Virus or Kaspersky Internet Security is found, all data that can be used by Kaspersky Internet Security 2011 (activation information, application settings, etc.) will be saved and used when installing the application.
